MU trends from Paris FW by Elena Vladi

The Paris Fashion week, surely one of the most respected and loved weeks of them all in the fashion world has just ended. Fashion and makeup trends really mature after the show, and are followed throughout the season. As we analyze the most prominent Parisian shows, this is what we can draw from them:

– Glossy and transparent skin must be emphasized. Highlighters have to be used to their maximum capacity as moisturizers.
– Brows aren’t really that important, but make sure they look on point, natural and match your hair color.
– In terms of eyes, it’s trendy right now to have sky blue, lilac or pink shades, but next seasons look is sure to have a nice red blush as well. An alternative to this might be highlighting your lower eye with a pencil that has nude colored tone to it.
– Bright and futuristic eye lines are still on top; the color pallet right now includes tones of white, yellow and pink.
– Instead of countering your facial structure, a pearl blush is making its comeback to the world of makeup. Chanel recommends applying them to your inner eye crease, to really get that voluptuous effect.
– Nude lipstick tones are going to be great, as well berry colors and glitters, both should be applied to your lipstick routine.
– A night out makeup regiment is going to need to have viciously highlighted eyes, complimented with a dark black color, this could definitely be that alternative to the much appreciated smoky eyes look.

By knowing and following these newly set rules of the makeup game, you’ll definitely be ready for the start of the season!

La Petite Robe Noire Lipstick

Помада Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Lipstick

One of the best features of this ecstatic lipstick is it’s ability to apply multiple layers, that’s really something that sets it apart from the competition. Doesn’t matter which color you choose, the first layer is going to look and feel like more of a tonal cream that gives off a slight effect of moisture on your lips. The second layer that you apply creates that much wanted shimmer shine, while the third one brings it home with it’s tough and moisturized fueled lipstick feel.

I would have to agree with the fact that you can layer up almost any product, but with the La Petite Robe Noire the whole layering process just works so perfectly! By the way this lipstick has more things to offer than the three layer program!

After applying bright colors from this Guerlain made product you can notice a slight tint on your lips, which persists for several hours and gives off a juicy, natural feeling, while sporting that flawless “no make-up” look which is spread evenly and has no spots whatsoever. It can get a little uncomfortable if for some reason you need to spotlessly remove that bright shine, you’re going to need to use a strong makeup remover.

The lipstick has a very specific aroma to it which honestly resembles the legendary La Petite Robe Noire perfume. The intensity of the smell is a very delicate one and it has to be that way or it will mess with the taste receptors. This product also has an interesting taste itself; it’s a bit sweet, and even those who aren’t exactly fond of taste infused lipstick, myself included, will feel that the flavor is lost within 10-15 minutes of its application.

The texture is really light, doesn’t stick and is just overall good in terms of consistency. I’d recommend this collection to lovers of different berry tones. From a light flamingo pink to a soul filled magenta, fancy blueberry sorbet and even a fluorescent fusion; lipstick tones from the La Petite Robe Noire are truly extraordinary! Calling these color pallets just “pink” or “red” would be a crime!

The team at Guerlain were also very smart to release nail polish that matches the color codes of the lipstick simultaneously!

BENEFIT REAL BIG sexy lip kit

BENEFIT has long been recognized as a company that really flaunts their products with amazing decor. It’ extremely hard to not get dazzled by their sleek lipstick set, which comes in a chique, compact bag. The complete set holds four different lipsticks with their own tones, which in addition have two sides on each of them, a lighter(with an even surface) and a darker(with a sharp surface) toned one. This enables you to recreate that luscious color with an ombre effect that you’re looking for in one single stroke, effectively adding volume your lips.

The manufacturer is obviously trying to create the perfect product, but sometimes it just doesn’t live up to its standards. The lipstick seems too thin to cover the area of the lips in one stroke, which in turn forces you to go over it again and mess with the colors, after that you’re going to need to blend it out with something like a brush or a cotton swap. That’s why grabbing one of these babies with you on the go for a quick touch up won’t be the greatest idea, even though they are quite comfortable to carry around because of their compact size.

The texture overall seems fairly solid and has a pleasant feel to it. It’s got a wonderful scent to it as well, gentle and not too strong. Fares pretty good in terms of staying on throughout the day. I feel like this set can be a great gift, it looks bright and has an interesting idea behind it, so the visual itself is bound to give off that WOW effect.

1. Your brand is “made in …?”

The creative part of the process happens in Spain, that’s also where we made our first prototypes , which are all hand made. The whole production team is currently working in London in a small workshop

2. Who is the designer at “Ecrannium”?

Ana Almendros, that’s me! When I was a teenager, I loved gothic jewelry. However, when I grew up, I wanted to wear pieces that were more elegant while still having that gothic and striking look to them. I wanted to wear pieces that could be worn daily, but could also be used in more formal settings. Therefore I decided to create the Ecrannium brand, and to create jewelry that I love!

3. How long has your brand been active?

Since January of this year, but I have been working very closely with designs and the possibility of doing my own jewelry a for a couple of years now.

4. How did the idea of such jewelry appear? Who or what was the inspirer of this style?

I decided to become a jewelry designer 3 years ago. I didn’t have a vision of a brand straight away, or a view on what my first collection would look like. So, I decided to draw out whatever came into my mind. After many drawings, it was easy to see what my style was and then what the brand would be. Ecrannium means skull in Latin, and I thought this represents my brand really well. The Ecrannium brand seeks to show beauty where people normally wouldn’t see it; In things like dragons, skulls, skeletons, insects, etc. The jewelry pieces transform from items normally associated with darkness into elegant expressions of beauty. The jewelry collection not only expresses power and luxury, but also shows a more humble beauty, that you can enjoy in all of its forms.

5. Which kind of metal and stones do you use for producing your pieces?

The first collection, The Dragon’ s Collection, is made of sterling silver, and it’s also plated with 18k gold. Diamonds, garnet, baroque fresh water pearls and very cool glass drops that are made using the same technique that is used to make the tears on the Mary Virgin figures in the Spanish churches.

6. Which result you’d prefer to achieve? – to see your product on almost every girl and be popular as much as Zara/H&M is or to have not so many customers, but very privileged, and be more a niche brand?

I would like to see my products on a lot of people, on any one who likes my style. I have never felt like “ohh!!!, I am not going to wear this because everyone wears It.” If I like something, I like It! It doesn’t bother me if two million people wear the same jumper for example.

But It’s also true that a lot of times I end up wearing things that not too many people wear, especially in terms of jewelry and handbags.

7. Do You collaborate with bloggers?

I haven’t tried it out yet.

8. Which social networks are you using to promote your brand?

Right now, just Instagram. I think I created a Facebook page earlier this year, but I haven’t used It. I am the worst at all this social media stuff. Before this new adventure with my brand, I didn’t even have Facebook, Instagram, twitter, and I hardly even used my phone, only for a messaging app like whatsap 😁! But I have to do It now!. I have to admit that I love Instagram because It can be extremely creative. Next steps are going to be, Facebook and Twitter, as well as my new website.

9. Your Instagram is really cool! Do you have any special strategy in Instagram posting, some precise system or is it every time unscheduled and extemporaneous?

I don’t have any special strategy, as I mentioned before I wasn’t a big fan of the new social media technology (well maybe not that new, at least it’s new to me ) so I’m currently learning about all the possibilities Instagram offers.

10. Do you use your Instagram as sales channel or only to show the product?!

I guess as a way to show my products in a different way, different in the sense compared to how they look on the website.

11. Who is the customer of your dream?

I want to create jewelry that I don’t get tired of, pieces that look better to me, the more I look at them. I would like my dream customers to feel the same way about my jewelry.

12. Where is it possible to buy your jewelry? (offline and on-line stores or showrooms)

Online, from

Not Just a Label

Hip Hunters

and next month Jewel street and At May Fair, and I am looking now into selling at a Web called Bright& Bent.

Maybe in November I will start selling it at the physical store of Wolf&Badger in Mayfair London as I did three months ago in the physical store of Wolf&Badger in Nothing Hill (London).

13. Do customers buy more online or offline?

Its hard to tell, I don’t have to much information yet as I started to sell just this May on the store of Wolf&Badger in Nothing Hill, and three months after that I started to work with other online retailers.

14. What is the next step for developing your brand?

I am building a new website and working on a new collection, I would like to work with more retailers and big stores like Harrods, Liberty , Harvey Nichols …in London, and big on line retailers like net-a-porter or Farfetch.

15. How do you see your brand in five years?

I see at least 5 new jewelry collections, and I see then being sold in other countries such as Japan, China, and America.

Backpack Sandro

Sandro Backpack

Do you remember as well as me that royally showy and undeservedly forgotten in the past few years material called velvet? Well, amazingly enough, the most unexpected combination of a fabric/model this season just happens to be a velvet backpack!

The Autumn collection from Sandro has tons of beautiful and super fashionable things from the finest materials for this fall, including but not limited to lingerie dresses, boots and now, finally a backpack. This rucksack should be getting a lot of praise, it honestly deserves the title of being the piece of the day! It just fits in so perfectly with Sandro’s typical sleek silhouette style, in its one-of-a-kind, deep, dark blue color. It isn’t too big, but it’s roomy, the ideal combination! If we’re going out with the backpack on, a vinyl-oversize coat with a white t-shirt underneath, paired with a silk dress is going to give us the faultless mix we want!
