Cote d’Azure is so popular this season! Cannes Festival and all the events are not leaving the time even for the short simple walk down the Boulevard de la Croisette!
But I’ll still suggest to take at least half a day and to visit a small town that is located 20 min from Nice Saint-Paul-de-Vence!
Medieval town.. Seems like nothing special as in France you can find a lot of them but.. at the beginning of XX century artists from Paris started to visit it! They’ve been staying in the hotel “La Colombe d’Or” and paying with their works of art! So can you imagine the walls of this place covered with the unique private modern art collection.. Pablo Picasso, Matisse, Lèger, Marc Chagall.. (But it will be special post about it :))
Many years have passed but Saint-Paul-de-Vence is still Art town! Small beautiful streets are full of art galleries and art workshops! Even the houses in this city are pieces of historical and cultural monuments from XVI-XVIII century!
I’ve spent all day in this town and could spend more walking down these small streets, visiting all galleries and workshops and speaking with artists that could talk for hours about their works and inspiration!
