Yesterday Diane von Furstenberg brand surprised fashion insiders, announcing that the Scottish designer Jonathan Saunders is to become chief creative director.
Six months ago Jonathan Saunders stopped the work of his own label, on which he worked for 12 years. Since then, speculation has mounted about what he might do next. Now it has been announced that he is taking his colorful aesthetic over to Diane von Furstenberg, where he will become chief creative officer.
“Jonathan’s extraordinary passion for colors and prints, his effortless designs, and his desire to make women feel beautiful make him the perfect creative force to lead DVF into the future,” Von Furstenberg said via release. “I could not have found a cooler, more intelligent designer and I cannot wait to watch him shine as our chief creative officer.”
Saunders said he’ll move to New York as soon as he can to start to create his fist collection for Diane von Furstenberg, which will be spring/summer 2017. We cannot wait to see it!
